Feast of 7 Fishes: Lillian’s Christmas Bacalla

This dish takes time to prepare. I started it on Monday, with letting the salt cod soak in water. I prepared the soups today, and now it needs to sit in the fridge for 2 days (per the instructions) when it is reheated, with the seasoning adjusted, and ready to eat!  I will admit, I did try a bowl of the soup, and it’s pretty delicious!

From what I understand, salt cod is a staple for the Feast of Seven Fishes. When researching it, I came upon the recipe I ended up using from a food blogger. The recipe is here. I followed it completely, except that I added about 2-3 cups of water to ensure there was a broth. Since the I followed the recipe, with one modification, I am not going to retype it. I will return to this soup on Christmas even, and I will let you know how it turned out!

I did not have enough regular potatoes, so I had to use some of my purple fingerling potatoes!
