About

Hello, my name is Rachael; welcome to my blog! I started this blog to be a chronicle of my cooking adventures, in about a year and a half, it’s gone through several facelifts and focuses (but always with the focus on cooking). I anticipate the blog will follow my current cooking interests.

I grew up in Toledo, Ohio and went to college at Bluffton University (OH). At Bluffton, I studied psychology and sociology. During that time, I had the opportunity to visit Vietnam. My time in Vietnam helped to stimulate my interest in cooking new and exciting foods. My interest in Vietnam took me to Ohio University, where I earned my master’s in international affairs.

After graduate school, I was accepted into Teach for America, a corps of top college graduates who are placed in some of America’s most challenging schools, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee. I spent 2 years in Memphis teaching English/Language Arts to some amazing 6th graders. After a quick stint back in Ohio, my husband and I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to jump-start my husband’s career and for further advancement in mine.

At the moment, I am totally enthralled with education, cooking, and whole foods.
